Questions for the groups........

Questions for MESA:-
Why is the magazine only for 17 + 18 year olds?
Why did you chose an anime picture for your front cover?
Why did you pick a Greek name?
Is it really trying to do anything new?
What way, if any, would you be able to expand to a bigger audience?

Questions for Upload:-
Why was your magazine and pitch so good?
How would you promote your magazine through the use of YouTube?
Why is the magazine only for women?
Is there really a market for a women's MEDIA magazine?

Questions for REC.:-
Are you aiming at women as well? And if so, how are you going to appeal to them?
What are your core values?
Was there a particular reason why you used the colour scheme of green, white and black within your magazine?
How can you justify and give evidence to prove that you have researched your target audience?
Why are you aiming at mainly men?

  3. Why is the magazine only for 17 + 18 year olds?
The magazine was designed for a 'younger audience', not specifically for 17 and 18 year olds. In the pitch we said that the expected age who were going to read the magazine would possibly be 17/18 year olds rather than the magazine itself being specifically targeted at this age group.

Why did you chose an anime picture for your front cover?
The idea behind the anime background was that it was a very unique idea that no other group had explored. It was a picture, therefore reaching the artists media group, it had certain computerised aspects in it which appealed to a more digitally minded media group, and the picture itself was of a girl wearing headphones which appeals to the musical side of the media industry as well.

Why did you pick a Greek name?
Continuing with the idea of being different, we decided to use the greek word 'Mesa' meaning media as the name of our magazine.

Is it really trying to do anything new?
I think that the magazine cover is trying to explore new formats and that is the main controversial aspect of our project. Within the magazine itself, things are still quite traditionally formatted.

What way, if any, would you be able to expand to a bigger audience?
To expand our magazine to a different or bigger audience we would have to rethink most aspects of the magazines cover. Overall I don't think the articles within the magazine would need too much change.
