A2 Unit G325 Genre is like so.........

How far were generic conventions a consideration in the planning and construction of either your As or A2 media production work?

30 minutes

*Your answer should demonstrate an understanding of some of the key issues raised in Daniel Chandler's Introduction to Genre Theory. And if you've been paying attention you'll realise how audience must feature in a consideration of genre - audience is another concept that could be the focus in this section. The point I'm trying to make is that one can't really talk about genre without a nod to narrative and audience and representation come to that...............

However:

*You must ground your answer in your own production work. For section A, question 1B you need to elect ONE production to evaluate. In the real exam, choose the work that best fits the focus of the question.

PS!!! If you look at the evaluation questions for G324 you'll notice that the first one is essentially about genre - so there is nothing to stop you quoting from Daniel Chandler. It will also be preparation for the G325 paper.

In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
